* General further adoption of SPDX licensing ID tags.Pedro F. Giffuni2017-11-201-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Mainly focus on files that use BSD 3-Clause license. The Software Package Data Exchange (SPDX) group provides a specification to make it easier for automated tools to detect and summarize well known opensource licenses. We are gradually adopting the specification, noting that the tags are considered only advisory and do not, in any way, superceed or replace the license texts. Special thanks to Wind River for providing access to "The Duke of Highlander" tool: an older (2014) run over FreeBSD tree was useful as a starting point. Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=326025
* Renumber copyright clause 4Warner Losh2017-02-281-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | Renumber cluase 4 to 3, per what everybody else did when BSD granted them permission to remove clause 3. My insistance on keeping the same numbering for legal reasons is too pedantic, so give up on that point. * - Introduce a new struct xvfsconf, the userland version of struct vfsconf.Maxime Henrion2002-08-101-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Make getvfsbyname() take a struct xvfsconf *. - Convert several consumers of getvfsbyname() to use struct xvfsconf. - Correct the getvfsbyname.3 manpage. - Create a new vfs.conflist sysctl to dump all the struct xvfsconf in the kernel, and rewrite getvfsbyname() to use this instead of the weird existing API. - Convert some {set,get,end}vfsent() consumers to use the new vfs.conflist sysctl. - Convert a vfsload() call in nfsiod.c to kldload() and remove the useless vfsisloadable() and endvfsent() calls. - Add a warning printf() in vfs_sysctl() to tell people they are using an old userland. After these changes, it's possible to modify struct vfsconf without breaking the binary compatibility. Please note that these changes don't break this compatibility either. When bp will have updated mount_smbfs(8) with the patch I sent him, there will be no more consumers of the {set,get,end}vfsent(), vfsisloadable() and vfsload() API, and I will promptly delete it. * Changes to support version 3 of the NFS protocol.Doug Rabson1995-06-271-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The version 2 support has been tested (client+server) against FreeBSD-2.0, IRIX 5.3 and FreeBSD-current (using a loopback mount). The version 2 support is stable AFAIK. The version 3 support has been tested with a loopback mount and minimally against an IRIX 5.3 server. It needs more testing and may have problems. I have patched amd to support the new variable length filehandles although it will still only use version 2 of the protocol. Before booting a kernel with these changes, nfs clients will need to at least build and install /usr/sbin/mount_nfs. Servers will need to build and install /usr/sbin/mountd. NFS diskless support is untested. Obtained from: Rick Macklem <rick@snowhite.cis.uoguelph.ca> Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=9336
